Job summary

Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region seeks a dedicated Behavior & Placement Technician to evaluate animals, support placements, and coordinate behavior interventions. The role involves health checks, behavior observations, and collaboration with veterinary and behavior teams to ensure safe, humane outcomes.

You will provide enrichment, assist with safe handling, and train staff on humane animal care practices, contributing to a compassionate shelter environment and successful adoptions.

Qualifications

• Experience in animal welfare or veterinary settings preferred.
• Knowledge of animal behavior and temperament assessment.
• Strong observational and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and support animals to promote successful placements.
• Conduct health checks, vaccines, microchips, and behavior observations.
• Perform behavior evaluations for dogs and cats.
• Provide enrichment and behavior strategies for well-being.
• Train staff and volunteers on safe handling.
• Serve as Euthanasia Lead and assist with humane procedures.
