Job summary

MJ Mechanical seeks experienced Sheet Metal Installers to support our mechanical construction projects. The team installs commercial HVAC ductwork, reads plans, and coordinates with foremen and other trades to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.

Ideal candidates read drawings, have 3–5 years of experience, and can work with limited supervision, including working on active construction sites and in congested areas.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience installing commercial HVAC sheet metal systems.
• Journeyman-level skill or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and work with limited supervision.

• Install commercial HVAC ductwork, fittings, hangers, supports, and related sheet metal components.
• Read drawings, specifications, and field measurements to plan and complete installations.
• Lay out and install duct systems accurately, including work in congested areas and around other trades.
• Coordinate with foremen, project teams, and other trades to resolve field issues and maintain progress.
• Inspect completed work for quality, fit, and compliance with project requirements.
• Use lifts, hand tools, and power tools safely and properly.

You’re an experienced sheet metal installer who can read plans, work independently, and take pride in a clean, accurate installation. You work safely, communicate well with your crew, and know how to keep a job moving when conditions change in the field.

MJ Mechanical is looking for five Sheet Metal Installers to support our mechanical construction projects.

About MJ Mechanical

MJ Mechanical is a North Salt Lake-based mechanical contractor providing design assistance, installation, service, and maintenance. Our work includes commercial, industrial, institutional, and multifamily projects. We fabricate ductwork and other materials in our own production shop to support our field teams.

Responsibilities

• Install commercial HVAC ductwork, fittings, hangers, supports, and related sheet metal components.
• Read drawings, specifications, and field measurements to plan and complete installations.
• Lay out and install duct systems accurately, including work in congested areas and around other trades.
• Coordinate with foremen, project teams, and other trades to resolve field issues and maintain progress.
• Inspect completed work for quality, fit, and compliance with project requirements.
• Use lifts, hand tools, and power tools safely and properly.
• Follow company safety procedures and keep work areas organized.

Qualifications

3-5 years experience installing commercial HVAC sheet metal systems; journeyman-level skill or equivalent experience.

• Ability to read mechanical drawings and work with limited supervision.
• Experience installing ductwork, supports, and related components on active construction sites.
• Strong understanding of jobsite safety and proper tool use.
• Ability to lift materials, climb ladders, work from lifts, and perform other physical duties of the role.

Reliable attendance and the ability to work effectively with a crew.
