Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a skilled tinsmith/sheet metal worker in Los Angeles to perform hand and machine operations on sheet metal, fabricate and install materials, and lay out duct transitions. Under minimal supervision, you will read blueprints, reference GOPs/UOPs, and contribute to process improvements while maintaining safety and quality.

This union position pays $35.39 per hour; candidates should have 5+ years of tinsmith experience and be able to work overtime. U.S.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years tinsmith/sheet metal experience; journeyman preferred.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Extensive experience with shears, brakes, punches, and metal forming equipment.
• High degree of mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Under minimum supervision perform various hand and machine operations on different kinds of sheet metal.
• Fabricate and install those materials.
• Must have experience as a pattern maker and be able to layout, design and fabricate all types of transitions and offsets as related to duct work.
• Must know uses, properties and relative strength of materials.
• Reference, support, and utilize appropriate GOPs and UOPs.
• Provide improvement suggestions where needed.
• Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining business processes in scope of responsibility.

Education
