Job summary

Corvant is seeking a Sheet Metal Mechanic I to assemble sheet metal, set roof curbs, install mechanical equipment, and handle HVAC-related tasks on commercial projects.

Travel to multiple construction sites is required. You will follow safety rules, read codes, and operate hand and power tools with precision. A high school diploma or GED is preferred; OSHA 10 certification is required; 4+ years of commercial sheet metal duct experience is ideal.

Qualifications

• HVAC systems knowledge and ability to read blueprints and codes.
• Familiarity with tools and equipment for HVAC installation and maintenance.
• Ability to work safely in construction environments.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to complete Form I-9.

Responsibilities

• Assemble sheet metal and install related equipment per project specs.
• Measure, cut, bend, and fit ductwork and components.
• Attend safety meetings and follow on-site leadership guidance.
• Travel to multiple construction sites within the U.S. as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site after work is completed.

Sheet Metal Mechanic I is responsible for assembling sheet metal, setting roof curbs, installing Mechanical equipment, as well as other HVAC related items.

Travel as needed is required.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities (List is not inclusive)

• Determine the right tools and equipment necessary to successfully complete the job.
• Must know industry relevant building codes and regulations for the installation and maintenance of commercial plumbing systems.
• Measure, cut and bend mechanical material.
• Must be on jobsite at required time.
• Attend all safety meetings.
• Follow instruction given by on-site leadership.
• Cleaning the job site after the work is completed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Knowledge of HVAC systems and their inner workings.
• Familiarity with all tools and equipment necessary for HVAC installation and maintenance.
• Physical fitness and manual dexterity.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to complete Form I-9 upon hire.
• Employment subject to E-Verify confirmation.
• Must be able to travel to multiple construction sites within the U.S. and present acceptable identification for security or travel purposes.
• Reliable transportation and ability to meet job-site access requirements.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• OSHA 10 Certification required.
• At least 4 plus years of commercial sheet metal duct experience.

• Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
• Use hand (s) and fingers to handle or feel objects or controls.
