Job summary

LeoForce is seeking a Mid Level Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our construction team in the Virginia/Mid-Atlantic region. You will fabricate, install, and repair sheet metal products including ductwork and air handling units, reading blueprints and converting them into precise shop drawings.

This role requires proficiency with tools like slide and drive, snap lock, and TDF, and may involve traveling to various job sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Sheet Metal Mechanic.
• Proficiency with sheet metal tools and techniques (slide and drive, snap lock, TDF).
• Extensive experience with ductwork, air handling units, VAV boxes, and fan power boxes.
• Familiarity with commercial/industrial construction environments.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and convert them into shop drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and on-site troubleshooting ability.
• Physical stamina to lift and manipulate heavy metal pieces.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment, including ductwork, air handling units, VAV boxes, and fan power boxes.
• Utilize tools and techniques such as slide and drive, snap lock, and TDF.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products.
• Measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on metal sheets using gauges, templates, and scribes.
• Convert blueprints into shop drawings to be followed in construction or assembly.
• Select gauge and type of sheet metal according to product specifications.
• Inspect assemblies and installations for conformance to specifications using calipers, scales, and micrometer.
