B&I Contractors, Inc. in Florida is seeking a Sheet Metal Journeyman to install HVAC duct systems and related sheet metal components. You will work safely, follow design specifications, and mentor trainees or apprentices on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of HVAC sheetmetal duct experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of duct systems and applicable codes.
• Proficient in trade mathematics (offsets, etc.).
• Proficient in the safe and proper use of hand and power tools.
• Commitment to job-site safety and company policies.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• OSHA 10 certification.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Sheet Metal Journeyman is responsible for the installation of (HVAC) duct systems and related sheet metal components. Work must be completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with design specifications, building codes, SMACNA, and company standards. This role ensures quality workmanship, provides guidance to assigned trainees or apprentices, and contributes to efficient and safe completion of assigned projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Interpret plans, specifications, and work instructions to complete assigned installations or assemblies.
• Installs HVAC equipment (Fans, VAV’s, etc..), duct and assemblies.
• Perform skilled tasks related to fabrication, layout, installation, repair, take-offs, or maintenance of duct systems.
• Work collaboratively with general contractors and other trades.
• Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.
• Provide instruction, training, and guidance to trainees or apprentices to promote safe work practices and skill development.
• Maintain tools, materials, and work areas in an organized, safe, and serviceable condition.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 4 years of HVAC Sheetmetal duct experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project documents.
• Strong understanding of duct systems and applicable codes
• Proficient in trade math IE offsets...
• Proficient in the safe and proper use of hand and power tools.
• Strong understanding of job site safety standards and commitment to following all company safety policies.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and clients.
• Understand how to measure duct for fabrication.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
