Job summary

Tradesmen International is actively hiring a Connecticut Licensed Sheet Metal Journeyman for projects in New London County, CT. This first shift role offers a pay rate up to $47/hour based on experience. You will join skilled craftsmen focused on safety, productivity, and top-quality work.

Responsibilities include fabricating, installing, and aligning ductwork and HVAC components, reading blueprints, and ensuring code compliance. OSHA 10/OSHA 30 preferred; reliable transportation required.

Qualifications

• Must hold current Connecticut SM1 or SM2 Sheet Metal License.
• Journeyman-level sheet metal experience in commercial construction or HVAC installation.
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Proficiency with sheet metal hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
• Knowledge of ductwork installation, layout, fittings, and HVAC systems.

• Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork and HVAC components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and project specifications.
• Measure, cut, bend, shape, and fasten sheet metal using hand and power tools.
• Install ductwork, fittings, dampers, hangers, and related HVAC components.
• Seal ductwork joints to meet project specifications.
• Coordinate with HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, and other trades.

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring skilled Connecticut Licensed Sheet Metal Journeyman for projects located in or around New London County, CT. This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is up to $47/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope

• Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork and HVAC components
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and project specifications
• Measure, cut, bend, shape, and fasten sheet metal using appropriate tools and equipment
• Install ductwork, fittings, dampers, hangers, supports, and related HVAC components
• Seal ductwork joints and connections to meet project specifications
• Coordinate with HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, general contractors, and other trades
• Inspect installations for proper alignment, fit, quality, and code compliance
• Follow OSHA requirements, site safety rules, and proper PPE procedures
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area
• Meet project deadlines while maintaining quality workmanship

Requirements:

• Current Connecticut SM1 or SM2 Sheet Metal License
• Journeyman-level sheet metal experience in commercial construction or HVAC installation
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and mechanical drawings
• Proficiency with sheet metal hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
• Knowledge of ductwork installation, layout, fittings, and HVAC systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a construction crew
• Reliable transportation and ability to report to assigned job sites
• Ability to lift materials, work from ladders or lifts, and perform physically demanding construction tasks
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and attendance
