Job summary

Dover Food Retail, a Dover Corporation unit, is seeking a Machine Operator I (Sheet Metal Forming) in Conyers, GA. You will set up and operate brake presses, inspect part tolerances, and ensure productive, safe manufacturing.

This role requires reading standard and metric prints, using precision measuring tools, and performing first piece inspections as needed. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of CNC press brake experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Title: Machine Operator I (Sheet Metal Forming)

Location: Conyers, GA

SUMMARY

The Machine Operator I will provide support for the press brake operation.

Responsible for the set-up, calibration, and operation of machines used in production processes. Works from verbal or written instructions, diagrams, or models. Inspects machining operations and finished product against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools. Determines and corrects more complex machine malfunctions. Performs routine maintenance and cleaning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate multiple brake presses and perform a variety of operations associated with safe and quality production.

• Responsible for powering up, running, feeding, and powering down the applicable equipment.

• Measures product dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation and performs quality inspection of finished product as required by work order.

• May perform first piece inspection to confirm tolerances and dimensions are within specifications.

• Perform general clean-up duties of the equipment and surrounding areas.

• May perform basic material handling duties with the use of manual pallet jack and/or forklift to move material and stage materials.

Essential knowledge & Skills

• Reads and understands standard and metric clue prints.

• Calculates bend allowances for various material types and thicknesses.
• Able to stand, reach, bend, twist, sit, and lift up to 50lbs routinely.

• Ability to use precision measuring tools.

• Ability to read engineering blueprints.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Select the proper punch and die tooling

• Sets up, adjusts, and operates Brake Press to perform a wide variety of operations on a diversified line of work, including prototype jobs and new parts.

• Inspects parts using precision measuring equipment and documents inspection data

Qualifications/Requirements:
