Job summary

MECO LLC in Rapid City, SD seeks an experienced Sheet Metal Foreman to lead our construction team. The ideal candidate will supervise sheet metal installation, read blueprints, mentor crew, and uphold safety and quality standards.

You will coordinate schedules, manage materials, document daily progress, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Strong leadership, communication, and hands-on sheet metal skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in sheet metalwork.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
• Certifications in sheet metal work, safety, or project management are preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate sheet metal workers and helpers.
• Plan, schedule, and monitor sheet metal work to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Inspect workmanship for quality and safety compliance.
• Oversee fabrication, assembly, and installation of sheetmetal components.
• Address issues during fabrication/installation and propose improvements.
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
• Monitor inventory of materials and tools required for sheetmetal tasks.
• Create daily timesheets and maintain accurate project progress reports.

KeyResponsibilities:

• Leadership:Superviseandcoordinatetheactivitiesofsheetmetalworkersandhelpers.Providetrainingandmentorshiptoteammembers.
• ProjectManagement:Plan,schedule,andmonitorsheetmetalworktoensuretimelycompletionofprojects.Collaboratewithprojectmanagersandclientstomeetprojectgoals.
• QualityControl:Inspectworktoensurecompliancewithspecifications,buildingcodes,andsafetyregulations.Implementqualityassurancemeasures.
• FabricationandInstallation:Overseethefabrication,assembly,andinstallationofsheetmetalcomponents,includingducts,flashing,andcustomsheetmetalitems.
• Problem-Solving:Addressandresolveissuesthatariseduringthefabricationandinstallationprocesses.Makerecommendationsforimprovements.
• SafetyCompliance:Enforcesafetyprotocolsandensurethatallteammembersfollowsafetyguidelinestomaintainasafeworkingenvironment.
• InventoryManagement:Monitorandmanageinventorylevelsofmaterialsandtoolsnecessaryforsheetmetalwork.
• DocumentationandTimekeeping:Createdailytimesheetsforyourcrewandmaintainaccuraterecordsofworkperformed,includingdailyreports,materialanequipmentusage,andprojectprogressreports.

Qualifications:

• Experience:Minimum4yearsofexperienceinsheetmetalwork,withatleast2yearsinasupervisoryrole.
• TechnicalSkills:Proficientinreadingblueprintsandtechnicaldrawings.Strongknowledgeofsheetmetaltoolsandequipment.
• Certifications:Relevantcertificationsinsheetmetalwork,safetytraining,orprojectmanagementarepreferred.
• CommunicationSkills:Excellentverbalandwrittencommunicationskillstoeffectivelyleadateamandinteractwithclientsandstakeholders.
