Job summary

Mission Critical Group (MCG) is seeking a Sheet Metal Fabricator to prepare, fabricate and cut metal products for assembly. You will work daily on machines that prepare steel for power packaging units and move equipment using a forklift.

The role requires reading blueprints, setting up presses and brake equipment, and maintaining high safety and quality standards. Prior experience with sheet metal, layout, and measurements will help you succeed in this position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years in manufacturing or construction preferred.
• 2+ years experience operating press brake or shear preferred.
• Forklift experience desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to lift and move heavy sheets of metal.
• Detail oriented and quality focused.

Responsibilities

• Lay out and examine metal stock or work pieces to ensure specifications are met.
• Assemble lifts, position, and remove pieces from machinery.
• Set up and operate equipment for fabrication of stainless sheet metal products.
• Install and align punches, dies, or fixtures in presses using hand tools.
• Study drawings, blueprints, and schedules to determine materials and tolerances.
• Clean and lubricate machines.
• Cross-train in welding and related techniques when appropriate.

Job Description

SUMMARY: The Sheet Metal Fabricatoris responsible for preparing, fabricating, and cutting metal products for assembly using a variety of tools and machines, such as presses, shears, saws, and lathes. This position will be working daily on machines that prepare steel metal products for the assembly of our power packaging units, as well as moving equipment and material with the assistance of a forklift.
Accountabilities:

• Lay-out and examine metal stock or work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.
• Assemble lifts, positions, and remove work pieces from machinery.
• Set up and operate specialized equipment and tooling for fabrication of stainless sheet metal products.
• Install, align, and lock/flip specified punches, dies, or other fixtures in rams or bed of brake press, using hand tools such as dial calipers and inspection gauges.
• Study shop drawings, blueprints, workordersand production schedules to determine specifications such as materials to be used, dimensionsand tolerances.
• Clean and lubricate the machines.
• Cross-train in welding and metalworking techniques when appropriate.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• 1-2years' experience in a manufacturing or construction environment(preferred)
• 2+ years' experience with operating press brake/shear(preferred)
• Experience driving and operate a forklift (desired)
• Experience using a roll table (a plus)
• Highly detail and quality oriented, ensuring correct measurements with each piece.
• Be reliable, responsible, and highly dependable.
• Work safely and efficiently while completing tasks in a timely manner.
• Skilled at mathematics, such as reading and applying a decimal chartas well as calculating circumference and bend radius.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• An understanding of proper use, cleaning, and lubricating of machines and tools.
• Adhere to safety procedures to perform tasks in an efficient and productive manner.
• Skilled at managing time independently.
• Ability to lift and move heavy sheets of metal.
