Job summary

Fusion Business Solutions (P) Limited on Long Island seeks a hands-on Sheet Metal Engineer to lead programming and optimize processes for laser cutters, turret punches, and press brakes. You will translate complex drawings into high-performance metal components working with engineering, production, and quality teams.

Responsibilities include creating programs from blueprints using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Amada tools, and SheetWorks; optimizing nesting and tool paths; collaborating with machinists;

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in programming for sheet metal fabrication.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AMADA CAD/CAM software, including SheetWorks, AP100/AP100US, and Dr.ABE Blank/Bend.
• Understanding of sheet metal processes, tolerances, tooling, and materials; MIG/TIG/laser welding.
• Experience with nesting software and material usage optimization.
• Knowledge of GD&T, lean manufacturing, and ISO 9001/AS9100 preferred.

Our client is looking for a Sheet Metal Engineer to lead programming and process optimization for their laser cutters, turret punches, and press brakes. You’ll work directly with engineering, production, and quality teams to turn complex drawings into high-performance metal components.

What You’ll Do:

• Create programs from blueprints using CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Amada, or similar).
• Optimize nesting, tool paths, and machine setup to reduce waste and increase output.
• Collaborate with machinists to troubleshoot and improve production processes.
• Support new product launches and ensure parts meet tight tolerances and customer specs.

What Our Client is Looking For:

• 3+ years of experience in programming for sheet metal fabrication.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AMADA CAD/CAM software, including SheetWorks, AP100/AP100US, and Dr.ABE Blank/Bend, with experience programming AMADA laser, punch, combination, and/or press-brake equipment.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes, tolerances, tooling, and material properties, and MIG/TIG/laser welding.
• Experience with nesting software and optimization of material usage.
• Working knowledge of GD&T, lean manufacturing, and quality systems (ISO 9001/AS9100 preferred).
