A mechanical services provider in Springfield is looking for an experienced Sheet Metal/ Ductwork Fabricator. The role involves producing metal goods, working from blueprints, and ensuring quality while adhering to safety regulations. Ideal candidates will have experience with light-gauge metal fabrication and an understanding of HVAC ductwork. Benefits include medical, vision, and PTO.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in fabricating ductwork from light-gauge metals.
• Experience with HVAC ductwork is a plus.
• Strong capabilities in interpreting engineering blueprints.
• Strong capabilities in interpreting engineering blueprints and drawings.
• Experience with fabrication and hand tools.
• Excellent understanding of various types of metal and their properties.
• Capacity to manage physical demands.
• Familiarity with Safety regulations and readiness to utilize PPE such as safety glasses, face shields, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
• OSHA 10-hour required within 30 days of employment.
• Experience with painting, welding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in making parts for tin ductwork and fittings, using breaks, rolls, hand tools, and proven methods to make quality parts
  
• Adhere to the blueprints to fulfill the product specifications
  
• Determine material dimensions to confirm requirements
  
• Inspect and examine parts to ensure they meet the quality standards and expectations
  
• Ensure that equipment and tools are used and kept in good working order, for longevity of tool life and safety purposes
  
• This position is safety sensitive
