Job summary

Safe Air Technology in Baton Rouge, LA, is seeking a Sheet Metal Designer to join our growing engineering team. You will design custom sheet metal parts and assemblies for mission critical HVAC equipment used in data centers and industrial settings.

Responsibilities include creating 3D models and fabrication drawings, analyzing customer specifications, and supporting manufacturing with design changes. Prior HVAC or industrial equipment experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred but not required.
• Experience designing sheet metal components in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes including: Laser cutting, CNC punching, Forming and bending, Welding, Assembly.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• HVAC manufacturing or industrial equipment experience is a plus.

• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and standardization.
• Maintain engineering documentation, BOMs, and revision control.
