Job summary

JR & Co. is hiring a Sheet Metal Crew Member to install architectural cladding systems, sheet metal, ACM panels and related systems. This full‑time role requires 1–2 years of sheet metal experience, OSHA 10, and willingness to travel for projects.

You will work on Des Moines site with occasional travel and a day shift schedule. We value hard‑working, team‑oriented individuals who communicate well and uphold safety standards on site.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of Sheet Metal experience required.
• 1-2 years experience in construction preferred.
• OSHA 10 hour training or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Help set‑up, maintain, and clean‑up project sites to ensure safe work practices and OSHA compliance.
• Install various wall panel systems, parapet coping & cut miters, standing seam roof panels, flashing & trim, fascia and window flashings.
• Properly manage all tools, equipment, and materials assigned.
• Complete all daily tasks and duties.
• Report safety concerns immediately and stop work if necessary for safety.
• Report to job on‑time, ready to work, and seek guidance as needed.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day production needs of the company by ensuring quality workmanship installing architectural cladding systems, sheet metal, metal wall panels, aluminum composite material (ACM) panels, and related specialty systems. Crew Members are expected to be hard-working, team players with a positive attitude and good communication skills.

Essential Functions

• Help set‑up, maintain, and clean‑up project sites to ensure safe work practices and compliance with OSHA at all times
• Install a variety of wall panel systems, parapet coping & cut miters, standing seam roof panels, custom sheet metal flashing & trim, Fascia, panel sills, profile closures, and window flashings
• Properly manage all assigned tools, equipment, and material
• Complete all of assigned daily tasks and duties
• Report any safety concerns immediately, stopping work if necessary for safety
• Report to job on‑time, ready to work, asking for clarification and assistance as needed

Required Skills and Abilities

• Experience with standing seams, metal tiles, and other sheet metal types.
• Must be able to obtain security clearance on military job sites
• Demonstrated time‑management and organizational skills
• Reliable – fulfilling all shifts and all required tasks
• Ability to follow directions and work hard

Education and Experience

• 1-2 years of Sheet Metal experience (required)
• 1-2 years experience in construction (preferred)
• OSHA 10 hour training (or ability to obtain)

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Pass initial drug test/background check and participate in random drug test program
• Willing to travel
• Ability to perform elevated work (work on rooftops, heights)
• Frequently lift and carry 75lbs or greater
• Frequent Lifting, bending, kneeling, walking
• Outdoor environment in all types of weather (8+ hours per day)
• Overtime and weekend work
