Responsibilities

• Repairs, manufactures and installs sheet metal air ducts, cabinets and lab equipment.
• Determine metal gauge and dimensions per specs and plans.
• Possibly requisition material from storehouse.
• Mark dimensions and reference lines on metal.
• Cut, bend and straighten metal using shears, brakes and rolls.
• Shape metal over anvils using hammer.
• Solder, weld or rivet metal to form articles.
• Smooth seams and burrs with files or grinders.
• Inspect finished work for conformance to drawings.
