Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services is hiring for a field-based role in Louisiana to travel between hospitals and healthcare facilities, placing and servicing Sharps containers and transporting waste. The position requires lifting heavy loads, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass a background check, drug screening, and any required healthcare screenings.
• Demonstrated strong communication skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service in diverse healthcare settings.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Lift 25-40 lbs frequently; occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
• Push and pull carts weighing 200-400 lbs, including through tight or confined spaces (e.g., hospital corridors).
• Carry sharps containers, pharmaceutical waste boxes, and supplies weighing 15-40 lbs.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between customer facilities.
• Ability to maintain sensitivity, professionalism, and discretion in patient-care environments.
• Flexibility to work outside normal business hours when needed.
• Must be willing and able to obtain additional vaccinations, immunizations, or health clearances as required by customer facilities.
• COVID-19 vaccination preferred.

Responsibilities
