What You'll Do
  • Own the production schedule - sequence jobs against customer commitments, capacity, and staffing, and adjust in real time when things change.
  • Lead production supervisors, leads, and operators; hire, train, and develop a team that doesn't depend on a handful of irreplaceable people.
  • Drive on-time delivery - find bottlenecks fast and make the call on staffing, equipment, or workflow to keep work moving.
  • Track and report production KPIs: throughput, on-time delivery, scrap, downtime, safety, and labor utilization.
  • Keep machines running - drive preventive maintenance and partner with maintenance on repairs and capital needs.
  • Hold the line on safety and quality; review non-conformance issues and close the loop with corrective action.
  • Manage departmental budgets for labor, overtime, and consumables - and communicate daily to plant leadership on what’s happening and what’s next.
What You'll Bring
  • 7+ years in operations or production management, with at least 5 in a direct supervisory role.
  • Background in corrugated packaging, folding carton, die-making, print finishing, or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on technical knowledge of production processes - enough to run the floor with credibility.
  • Comfort with ERP systems, production scheduling, and capacity planning.
  • Strong Excel skills for scheduling and KPI tracking.
Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree or technical training preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business, Graphic Arts Technology, or related field preferred - but not required with equivalent experience.
Experience
  • 7+ years of operations or production management experience; 10+ preferred, with at least 5 years of direct supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in corrugated packaging, folding carton, die-making, print finishing, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Track record of hitting production goals across safety, quality, customer service, throughput, and cost control.
  • Hands-on technical understanding of production processes sufficient to run the floor credibly.
  • Experience with ERP and order-entry systems, production scheduling, and capacity planning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for scheduling and KPI tracking.
  • Nice to have: CAD software (ArtiosCAD, Cimex, AutoCAD, Impact, etc.), Lean manufacturing or ISO 9000 training, forklift certification.
Who Thrives Here
Floor presence

You're a working manager. You know the equipment, you know the operators, and you're visible when it counts - not managing from a desk.

Sharp judgment on staffing and commitments

You know when to add overtime, when to push out a deadline, and when to protect the team from an unrealistic promise.

Team builder

You develop supervisors and leads so the plant has a leadership pipeline - not a fragile dependence on a small group of key people.

Entrepreneurial operator

Collaborative, frugal, and continuously improving. You do the right thing even when it's hard.
