The Autism Center of Nebraska, Inc. (ACN) is looking for compassionate and motivated individuals to become a Shared Living Provider (SLP) in the Omaha area.

Our SLPs provide a home where an individual who has a developmental disability lives. The SLP is paid to support the individual and is responsible for teaching a variety of independent living skills such as maintaining the home, meal preparation, grocery shopping, proper hygiene, and assisting the individual in participating in community activities.

Responsibilities

• Teaching independent living skills such as maintaining the home, meal preparation, grocery shopping, proper hygiene, and assisting the individual in participating in community activities.
• Documenting care and activities.
• Administering medication.
• Accompanying the individual to doctor's visits.
• Providing transportation.

ACN’s goal is to match the individual with a SLP where there is an excellent chance for success and a long‑term relationship to be established. The residence of the prospective SLP is assessed to ensure not only a comfortable but safe environment.
