Job summary

Bethany Christian Services in the United States seeks a Safe Families for Children Coordinator to connect families with friendship, coaching, resources, and short-term care through volunteer Host Families.

The role emphasizes engagement with at-risk families, collaboration with faith communities, and strong communication while maintaining confidentiality and adapting to change. Evening/weekend availability is required; driving is involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Child Development, or related field from an accredited college.
• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Child Development, or related field preferred.
• Experience with at‑risk children and families.
• Experience with faith communities preferred.
• Licensure may be required by state.
• Public speaking across child welfare and faith communities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Willingness to work evenings/weekends.
• Confidentiality and adaptability under pressure.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Must be 21+ with a valid U.S. driver’s license and 3+ years driving experience.
• MVR check and vehicle insurance proof.

Safe Families surrounds parents facing crises with a caring, compassionate community. As a Safe Families for Children Coordinator, you’ll connect families with friendship, coaching, resources, and short-term care for their children through volunteer Host Families.

What Will Make You Successful

• Bachelor’s level degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Child Development, or related field of study from an accredited college,
• Master’s level degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Child Development, or related field of study from an accredited college, preferred;
• Prior experience working with at-risk children and families;
• Prior experience working collaboratively with local faith communities, preferred;
• May require professional licensure in the respective state;
• Experience with public speaking in a variety of settings to include child welfare, faith communities, and collaborative networks, preferred;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• An ability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends, as needed;
• Prior experience in recruitment, marketing, volunteer management, or coaching;
• Prior experience with and demonstrated ability to utilize social media;
• Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
• A self-starter with an ability to work autonomously;
• Reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks;
• Exercise a high level of confidentiality;
• Work well under pressure and adaptable to change;
• Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
• Must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany;
• Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate coverage;
• Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
• Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity.
