Orion is seeking a Distributed Systems Engineer for an on-site role in San Francisco. You will scale our MQTT infrastructure, own major architecture decisions, and build the cloud platform that enables Orion hardware to communicate securely at scale.

This is a hands-on role for a generalist software engineer with experience in scaling 0-1 IoT systems and a passion for fast, autonomous development in a zero-bureaucracy culture.

Responsibilities

• Scale MQTT infrastructure across 0–1 IoT deployments to production scale.
• Own major architecture decisions for the IoT/cloud platform.
• Build the cloud platform enabling Orion hardware communication.
