Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program Director to oversee SANE services within a hospital setting. You will organize multidisciplinary care, ensure quality nursing practice, and supervise program evaluation and orientation.

The role involves performing forensic exams, providing infection and pregnancy prophylaxis, documenting findings, and guiding referrals for medical and psychological follow-up. Compliance with standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Unrestricted State DL.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Completed approved Illinois SANE training (40 hours of Didactic coursework)
• One (1) year of experience as SANE required.
• ED experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize SANE services and systems with hospital leadership for multidisciplinary care.
• Provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to sexual assault patients.
• Perform forensic exam, prophylaxis, documentation, referrals for medical/psych follow-up, and assist in legal proceedings.
• Follow protocols established by Medical Director and SANE program management.

Responsibilities

The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program Director in conjunction with hospital leadership, is responsible for the organization of SANE services and systems necessary for a multidisciplinary approach to providing care to patients. This includes, but is not limited to, responsibility and accountability for the quality of nursing care provided, program evaluation, clinical orientation, mentoring, consultation, and the maintenance of state and national standards of care.

Provides timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to the sexual assault victim. This will include a forensic exam, prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, photographic documentation, referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up, support, and participation in legal proceedings. The SANE is expected to follow protocols established by the Medical Director and/or management of the SANE program for which the SANE is employed. The SANE is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.#LK-KH1

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $105,372.80 to $141,814.40 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
