Job summary

Arhaus in Conover, NC seeks a temporary evening sewing associate to join production. You will sew fabric and leather cushions and flat-work pieces to spec, operate an electric sewing machine, and maintain quality through precise stitches.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, reading a ruler, and the ability to work independently in a safety-conscious environment. The shift is Monday through Friday 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with competitive wages and a weekly attendance bonus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' sewing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and use a ruler accurately.
• Ability to thread and operate industrial sewing machines.
• Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
• Strong English communication skills (reading, comprehension, speaking, writing).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to sit for up to 4 hours.

Responsibilities

• Sew fabric and leather cushions and flat-work pieces according to production specifications.
• Operate an electric sewing machine, guiding materials accurately through the needle.
• Follow all established sewing standards, including: Maintaining consistent ½" seams, Producing straight, uniform stitches, Ensuring no skipped stitches, Verifying all pieces meet required specifications, Inspecting materials for holes, flaws, or defects, Measuring welt using a ruler for correct length.
• Read and understand production tickets and basic sewing instructions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
