Job summary

Miller Pipeline is hiring Sewer Locators to operate robotic CCTV equipment to inspect, locate, and map sanitary and storm sewer systems. This role requires the ability to travel regionally and operate CMV vehicles, with emphasis on safety and accurate data entry.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and a clean driving record; CDL Class A is a preferred qualification. The position offers a team-oriented environment with on-the-job training and opportunities for

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer and electronics skills.
  • Clean driving record and a DOT physical.
  • Ability to drive a CMV and travel regionally

Responsibilities

  • Properly lift tools, objects and equipment of varying weight.
  • Data entry on PC video recording software.
  • Regular maintenance of mechanical and electronic equipment.
  • Use receiver to accurately locate sewer mains and laterals.
  • Legibly draw sewer map of construction area.
  • Communicate with city utility departments.
  • Transfer data between rig and central servers.
  • Drive pickup truck/trailer or full-sized van classified as a CMV.
  • Set up and maintain safe job site and safe work practices.
  • Compress soil and asphalt.
  • Shovel material, soil and cold patch asphalt mix.
  • Operate vehicles used for hauling.
  • Assist in the demolition, take-up and reconditioning of old pipe.
  • Score and break asphalt or concrete with a jackhammer.
  • Repair backfilled trench areas with grass seed or asphalt.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Professional or personal use of computers and electronics.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Clean driving record and a DOT physical or ability to obtain one upon employment.
  • Drive a commercial motor vehicle (CMV), and travel regionally and respond to emergency situations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year in robotic CCTV operation or utility locating.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A.
