Job summary

S&J Plumbing is expanding its sewer lining division and seeking an experienced Sewer Lining Technician in Illinois. The role focuses on installing CIPP liners in residential sewer systems and operating trenchless equipment to ensure high-quality, safe installations.

You’ll lead a crew, troubleshoot in the field, and deliver superior customer service. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, paid health, dental, and vision, plus bonuses and retirement matching.

Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing, sewer, drain cleaning, or underground work, REQUIRED
• Experience with sewer cameras, jetting, or trenchless work strongly preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot and work independently in the field
• Strong work ethic and professionalism
• Comfortable with physical work and outdoor conditions
• Team player with leadership potential
• Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus)

Responsibilities

• Install CIPP (Cured-In-Place Pipe) liners in residential sewer systems
• Operate trenchless equipment (inversion drums, cutters, curing systems)
• Perform drain cleaning and pipe prep before lining installs
• Diagnose sewer conditions and ensure proper install execution
• Work closely with your crew to complete jobs efficiently and correctly
• Follow all safety protocols, including confined space procedures
• Maintain and clean equipment and trucks
• Provide a five-star customer experience on every job
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times
