Job summary

The City of Saint Charles is seeking a full-time Field Maintenance Worker in the Public Works Sewer Division to perform a variety of maintenance tasks and operate equipment for sewer, street, and storm drainage systems. Expect intensive physical labor outdoors, including lifting 100+ lbs, and working in extreme weather and noisy environments.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid Missouri Class A CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements; the role includes on-call

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Working knowledge of underground utility systems and maintenance of sewer infrastructure is preferred.
• Possession and maintenance of a Missouri Class A CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain heavy construction equipment, vehicles, tools, and supplies.
• Operate construction equipment and vehicles, CCTV and cleaning/jetting equipment for sewer lines; use hand and power tools.
• Excavate and repair sewer infrastructure; ensure safety standards and confined space procedures.
