Job summary

Nourison in Calhoun, GA is seeking a full-time Sewer to finish edges on custom rugs. The role operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM in the Fabrication Department.

You will add edge finishing, review work orders, and ensure high-quality edge work with proper equipment use. Required are a High School diploma or GED and computer experience; proficiency with AS400, Word and Excel, plus the ability to lead by example.

• Finish the edges of custom fabricated rugs

Detailed Job summary:

• Add edge finishing to custom rug edges
• Various options offered: Machine serging, Hand serging, Machine binding
• Review each work order paying close attention to details for each order. Apply the appropriate edge finishing per the instructions on the work order.
• Quality – Review / Inspect the quality of edge finish of each piece once completed. Have the Fabrication department manager to check the edge finish for any defects.
• Equipment – Ensure that all equipment is used correctly and safely. Maintain all equipment as needed (binding machines, serging machines, scissors etc).

Minimum requirements:

• High School / GED. Computer Experience required.

Abilities required:

• Ability to use AS400, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Ability to lead by example.
