Job summary

Valley Collaborative seeks a Severe Disabilities Teacher for middle school in Billerica, MA. The position is full-time, in-person, and engages with an interdisciplinary team to implement IEPs and adapt instruction for students with complex needs.

The role requires collaboration with nursing, SLP, OT, PT, and BCBA, maintaining a safe classroom, and duties including transportation when needed. A strong commitment to inclusive education is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with students who have multiple diagnoses including intellectual impairment, autism, or multiple disabilities.
• Training in de-escalation and physical intervention strategies.
• Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

Responsibilities

• Work with nurse, SLP, OT, PT, and BCBA to develop IEPs.
• Maintain an organized, safe, and productive classroom.
• Provide transportation for students in Collaborative vehicles when necessary.
• Supervise classroom aides and support staff.
• Develop IEP goals and progress reports reflecting student needs.
