Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company is seeking a packaging operator for 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 7:00am-3:30pm) in Massillon, OH. The role covers set-up of packaging and filling equipment, routine adjustments, and adherence to safety rules with required PPE.

Responsibilities include operating heavy machinery, keeping areas clean, reporting quality or equipment issues, and supporting maintenance as needed. Bonus eligibility applies based on performance per company plans.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Preferred: at least one year operating machinery in manufacturing/distribution.
• Preferred: experience with packaging equipment ( robotics, filling machines, case packers, labelers ).
• Preferred: experience monitoring quality of raw materials or finished goods.
• Preferred: experience using material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu-hoists, drum dollies, conveyor belts).

• Perform clean down procedures to production equipment.
• Advise Supervisor or Quality Control of any problems with equipment or product not meeting specifications.

Job description

Perform set-ups on all packaging lines/fill lines, make adjustments during production and operates packaging/filling equipment. Perform duties in accordance with all safety rules, using the proper Personal Protection Equipment.

Additional Information:

Schedule: 1st Shift Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm

This position is also eligible for a bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans.

Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and vendors.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have at least one (1) year of work experience operating machinery in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment
• Have at least one (1) year of work experience operating packaging equipment such as robotics, filling machines, case packers, labelers, etc.
• Have at least one (1) year of work experience monitoring the quality of raw materials and/or finished goods
• Have at least one (1) year of work experience using material handling equipment (for example: forklifts (stand and sit), pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu-hoists, drum dollies, conveyor belts, etc.)
