DM Injury Law, LLC in Kansas City, MO, is seeking a Settlement Accountant to join the Settlement Team. You will support critical accounting functions to ensure timely, accurate client payments, working closely with attorneys and the finance group to move settlements from start to finish.

Responsibilities include preparing client-facing settlement summaries, reconciling accounts, processing journal entries, and assisting with vendor setup and reporting.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1+ years of full-cycle accounting or settlement experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office, accounting software, and databases.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Aufgaben

• Create client-facing settlement summaries and settlement packages for attorneys.
• Review settlement summaries for accuracy and consistency.
• Review and approve settlement accruals entered by attorneys.
• Reconcile settlement-related account activity.
• Reconcile daily exception reports.
• Enter journal entries for co-counsel fees, commissions, and similar items.
• Enter bank transfers for IOLTA and Operating accounts.
• Apply daily cash to open receivables.
• Assist with electronic deposits through the banking web portal as needed.
• Set up new vendors in the ERP system.
• Generate accounting system data for reports.
• Respond to and resolve requests in the shared email inbox.
• Support the Lead and Senior Settlement Accountants as needed.
• Contribute to special projects.
