Job summary

Jobtailor in New York's Islip area is seeking a reliable production operator to assemble, disassemble, clean, and maintain equipment. You will set up and operate manufacturing and packaging lines, monitor performance, and adjust setups to support productivity.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of mechanical or machine operator experience, a High School diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Training on GMPs, SOPs, and safety rules will be provided and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of mechanical or machine operator experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and move around the facility.
• Trade background or technical school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, disassemble, clean, and maintain production equipment.
• Set up and operate manufacturing and packaging machines.
• Make adjustments and minor repairs to support productivity.
• Troubleshoot setup issues and minimize downtime.
• Monitor and optimize lines during production runs.
• Match labels with batch records and verify accuracy.
• Maintain inventory of tools and parts.
• Assist operators and maintenance technicians as needed.
• Create or update machine centerline procedures.
• Follow safety rules, GMPs, SOPs, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Comfortable working around powders, chemicals, and food allergens
• Flexible to work overtime based on business needs
