Job summary

Parker Hannifin is seeking a skilled machinist on 2nd shift (3:00pm - 11:00pm EST) in Ohio. You will program, set up, and operate CNC machines to perform turning, drilling, milling, and other operations on diverse parts, while following safety procedures and lean principles.

You will read blueprints, inspect parts with gauges, work with Kanban, edit NC programs, and document production reporting. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic math and computer skills, and a team-oriented

Responsibilities

This position is on second (2nd) shift, working 3:00pm - 11:00pm EST.

• Perform the required duties in accordance with safety guidelines and lean principles by complying with all safety procedures and all company policies.
• Program, set up and operate one or more numeric control or computer numeric control machines to perform turning, drilling, reaming, tapping, milling, boring, welding, and other machining operations over a wide range of part types.
• Perform daily tasks to produce parts, including but not limited to, loading/unloading equipment, gathering materials/components, positioning work area and setting parameters.
• Utilize various hand tools, specialty tools, and measuring equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Understand and facilitate Kanban inventory system accuracy.
• Ability to edit and modify numeric control programs.
• Determine operation sequence, select and adjust tools. Job setups may be complex and require machining to very close tolerances.
• Perform inspection of parts utilizing gauges / measuring devices and review blueprints/diagrams to ensure components are being manufactured in accordance with the part specification.
• Read blueprints and produce quality parts to print requirements and customer specifications.
• Complete various types of paperwork related to production reporting.
• Maintain work areas by cleaning and organizing the space and equipment.
• Deal ethically with Parker’s customers, suppliers, fellow associates and the general public.
• Actively participate in company-sponsored training programs.
• Complete additional duties and projects as assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to hear and speak. The employee must regularly stand, walk, sit and use hands to grasp and handle. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 40 lbs. The employee will regularly bend, stoop, and stretch handling parts/objects in various situations. Specific vision requirements include close vision, ability to focus, and depth perception. This position may be exposed to oils, dirt, fumes and moving equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
