Job summary

MAHLE is seeking a Set-up Operator in Russellville, AR. You will determine dimensions and tolerances from blueprints, set up machines, and start operations while adjusting controls to maintain quality standards.

Required are 1+ years in manufacturing, ability to read English instructions, and familiarity with measuring tools. PLC/CNC experience is preferred, along with a high school diploma or GED. 8- to 12-hour shifts with benefits included.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and verbalize instructions in English.
• Experience with PLC or CNC operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review safety policies and procedures.
• Study blueprints, drawings, and specs to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Select and set up holding fixtures, tools, and materials on machines.
• Understand tool changes and offsets, and adjust as needed.
• Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions and adjust controls.
• Verify finished work matches specifications.
• Set up and run trial to verify machine settings.
• Recover machines after tool damage or faults.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities include using tools/equipment such as micrometer, calipers and gages, studies blueprints, sketches, and drawings to determine dimensions and tolerance of finished workpiece and starting machine operation to adjust machine controls.

Essential Duties And Responsabilities

Reviews and follows Safety policies and procedures.

• Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, Adcole reports, and CMM reports, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, tools, attachments, locators, accessories, and materials on machines.
• Understand and know when to change tools.
• Understand Offsets and adjustments and how they are made.
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
• Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
• Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
• Knows and understands how to recover the machine in cases of tool damage, machine fault or other similar circumstances.
• Other duties as assigned.

Pay Scale:

$19.91 – $22.50 per hour starting wages

Additional pay for 2nd and 3rd shifts:

$0.60 per hour
