Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Data Governance Architect to work directly with clients, assessing current-state governance and designing scalable governance frameworks across Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and Purview ecosystems.

The role requires leading discovery sessions, presenting to executives, and guiding customers through complex governance challenges while shaping governance roadmaps and reuse assets.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Architecture, or Information Management.
• Strong client-facing consulting and stakeholder management experience
• Unity Catalog or Collibra experience (Purview preferred)
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise data governance frameworks
• Expertise with data lineage, metadata management, business glossaries, stewardship models, and governance operating frameworks
• Experience with Azure and Microsoft Fabric
• Ability to lead discovery workshops, assessments, and solution design sessions independently
• Experience developing governance strategies in ambiguous or greenfield environments
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to create governance roadmaps, architectures, and reusable governance assets
• Microsoft Purview implementation experience (preferred, but not required)
• AI governance and AI readiness experience
• Microsoft 365 Copilot governance experience
• Azure Databricks experience
• Data quality and governance monitoring solutions
• Experience with regulated industries
• Experience with Microsoft Foundry or Copilot Studio
• Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks related to data governance

Leading enterprise data governance initiatives across Microsoft environments

Candidate will work directly with customers to assess current-state governance, design governance frameworks, establish data stewardship models, and implement governance solutions across Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and Microsoft Purview environments.

This is a true architect and consulting role. Candidates must be comfortable leading discovery sessions, presenting to executive stakeholders, creating governance blueprints in greenfield environments, and independently guiding customers through complex governance challenges.

The ideal candidate can translate business requirements into scalable governance solutions while helping organizations improve data quality, lineage, metadata management, AI readiness, and overall governance maturity.
