Job Description: ServiceNow Senior Software Engineer
As a ServiceNow Senior Software Engineer, you will interface with end-users, IT teams, and key stakeholders to gather systems requirements for the Service Portal.
- Strong experience with ITSM, Catalog development, and Service Portal processes. Ability to guide customers through understanding technical solutions for their business requirements.
- Customize ServiceNow applications and facilitate rollout of new applications and modules, including configuring Application UI, Workflow, work orders, transfer orders, inventory, and technician locations.
- Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify software enhancements.
- Write code, perform programming, testing, and debugging of applications using current programming languages and techniques.
- Contribute to writing test scripts and complete unit testing.
- Facilitate and mentor across multiple projects and teams.
- Provide technical expertise in code writing and reviews.
- Collaborate with delivery teams and other engineers to understand, estimate, prioritize, and implement development requests and project requirements.
- Apply modern technology and innovation to improve platform functionality.
- Deliver outstanding customer experiences by providing administration, development, and support during ServiceNow implementation.
- Interact with technical SMEs to gather environment information supporting service map and event work.
- Reflect impact assessment rules within service maps and validate with SMEs and stakeholders.
- Participate in user acceptance testing of maps, impact rules, and event management.
- Promote update sets and data across SN environments.
- Remediate production incidents related to scope.
- Align with existing SN technical leads to ensure consistent approach that maintains shared patterns.
- Proactively maintain operational documentation and SOPs to reduce support risks and inefficiencies.
May perform additional duties as assigned.
What You Bring Along
- 3+ years supporting the implementation, administration, configuration, and/or development of ServiceNow in at least two capabilities (e.g., Service Portal).
- Experience with integration between ServiceNow and other systems/platforms using mid servers and cloud-to-cloud methods.
- Experience with Web Services Integration (SOAP, REST) and automated bi-directional integrations.
- Knowledge of Data Extraction Technologies (e.g., JDBC, ODBC) or ETL integrations.
- Proven experience with implementing ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, Software Asset Management, ITSM, Service Catalog, and Workflows.
- Deep understanding of the ServiceNow CMDB and related processes.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow scripting including Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Builder, Scripted REST APIs, and Script Includes.
- Ability to create technical design documents and user documentation.
Education
- A four-year undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or demonstrated equivalent work experience.
