Base pay range

Key Point: Must be friendly, approachable, and enjoy working with people. Service Writers are often the first and last impression a customer has with the dealership. They greet customers, listen to vehicle issues, communicate with technicians, and serve as the liaison throughout the service process.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to determine their vehicle repair or service needs.
• Build customer relations to increase satisfaction.
• Maintain standards for ethical practices, professionalism, orderliness, and customer service.
• Monitor vehicle progress and update customers regularly.
• Maximize sales and promote retail promotions to increase profitability.
• Oversee technicians’ work, including time management, parts ordering, and job completion.
• Participate in quality control processes.
• Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Training in service advising, customer satisfaction, and quality control.
• Experience as an automotive service advisor.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to focus and complete tasks despite interruptions.
• Strong multitasking skills.
• Proficient in computer and business machine use.
