Job summary

Specialized Lincoln Park in Chicago, IL seeks a Service Technician to be the frontline ambassador for the Specialized brand and to deliver outstanding in-store experiences. You will help riders with expert bike service and support sales through technical consulting.

This role requires weekend availability, strong communication, and the ability to lift at least 50 lbs. You will maintain cleanliness and operate Lightspeed POS while staying current with product lines.

Service Technician - Specialized Lincoln Park - Chicago, IL

A Service Technician is the frontline, point person for our brand to riders. The role involves taking riders’ technical expertise to the next level, ensuring outstanding in‑store brand experiences, and supporting sales and profitability.

How you'll make a difference

• Meet and connect with riders, asking qualifying questions and listening to their needs.
• Provide options and advice from a pre‑set service menu or a la carte services.
• Speak authoritatively on technical matters related to our bicycles.
• Assist customers in an enthusiastic, courteous manner and deliver “wow” service.
• Properly take in all service work, set and exceed rider expectations, and correctly fill out service work orders.
• Schedule repairs and advise riders on product/service selection without bias.
• Maintain knowledge of all merchandise in the department and stay current with new product lines.
• Assist with bike sales through technical consulting and perform other floor duties as needed.
• Deliver best‑in‑class rider service that ensures ongoing service and high satisfaction levels.
• Maintain general cleanliness standards at opening, throughout the day, and at closing, including light janitorial duties.
• Operate Lightspeed point‑of‑sale systems and store operational websites.
• Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.

What you need to win

• Passion for cycling and the Specialized brand.
• Bike shop or bike mechanic experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with riders and team members.
• Availability to work according to business needs, including weekends.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and to walk, kneel, or reach as required.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. using proper lifting skills.
