Townsend Tree Service is seeking a Service Technician to perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and advanced repairs on heavy equipment at remote locations. You will ensure equipment runs at peak performance and document work performed, with after-hours availability as needed.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of heavy equipment mechanic experience, knowledge of DOT standards, and a valid driver's license. CDL is required where applicable. Equal opportunity employer.

Position Summary

The Service Technician performs preventative maintenance, diagnoses, and makes advanced repairs at various remote/roadside locations. This position is responsible for ensuring company equipment is running at optimal performance. The Service Technician determines the causes of failure and implements strategies or corrective measures to ensure failures do not reoccur. This position is responsible for various activities, including but not limited to cleaning, maintaining, assembling, and reconditioning equipment.

Duties And Responsibilities Include

Essential Duties

• Operates, inspects, troubleshoots, performs diagnostics, and identifies defects/malfunctions
• Determines required repairs on heavy and/or hydraulic equipment
• Repairs or overhauls mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
• Performs preventative equipment maintenance
• Documents and submits all necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
• Maintains availability for after-hours service calls
• Duties and responsibilities may change with or without notice

What You'll Bring To The Team

• Two (2) or more years of heavy equipment mechanic experience
• Knowledge of DOT standards and requirements
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record per Company requirements
• Knowledge of essential job functions and responsibilities

• Meet all physical requirements of the position
• Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations
• 18 years of age or older, or 21 if CDL is required
