Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. in Amarillo, TX is seeking a Service Technician for Preventive Maintenance (Field). You will travel to customer sites to perform in-field maintenance and minor repairs using a company vehicle, while ensuring quality work and safety.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience in a heavy equipment environment or related field.
• Demonstrated basic mechanical knowledge.
• Must provide and maintain a basic set of hand tools.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
• Ability to work overtime, travel overnight, and weekends as needed.
• Class B CDL preferred and DOT medical card required.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance services on equipment at customer sites, including lubrication and fluid checks.
• Operates a mobile service vehicle and travels to locations to complete repairs.
• Plans methods and sequence of performing assigned repairs and maintains safety standards.
• Completes required paperwork efficiently and communicates findings to customers and management.

Service Technician - Preventative Maintenance(Field) Position Purpose

The Preventative Maintenance Field Service Technician operates a mobile service vehicle and travels to customer locations to perform in-field preventative maintenance services and minor repairs. They will perform quality work as efficiently and effectively as possible according to the specified guidelines.

Service Technician - Preventative Maintenance(Field) Essential Function

• Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One Goal
• Performs preventative maintenance services on equipment as assigned ex. lubrication/greasing and checking fluid levels as needed
• Plans methods and sequence of performing assigned repairs
• Keeps rework within established guidelines
• Notifies the Manager of any additional work required on the unit
• Contributes to departmental and product line goals
• Completes required paperwork efficiently and timelyAttends factory and other training as specified by supervisor
• Promotes goodwill and exhibits excellent customer relations with customers, managers, and coworkers
• Maintains service truck in good working condition and cleanliness
• Completes daily, monthly, and annual safety and vehicle inspections
• Models safe work habits and always abides by company safety policies and procedures
• Organizes, cleans, and maintains a safe work area
• Consistent and reliable on-site attendance
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Service Technician - Preventative Maintenance(Field) Minimum Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience in a heavy equipment environment or related field
• Demonstrated basic mechanical knowledge
• Must provide and maintain a basic set of hand tools
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English
• Ability to work overtime, travel overnight, and work weekends as needed
• Class BCDL preferred
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical card

Service Technician - Preventative Maintenance(Field) Physical Requirements

• Pushes/Pulls/Lifts/Carries up to 75 pounds without assistance
• Physical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overhead
• Must be able to work in extreme heat or cold andwet, damp, dusty, or windy conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises, hazardous materials, and fumes/odors associated with the shop/field
• Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional condition
