Job description

Service Technician IV

Join Our Team as a Service Technician IV! Ready to lead from the front as a senior HVAC expert, guiding teams on complex commercial service projects and driving exceptional outcomes? At Modigent companies, we provide top‑tier service, repair, maintenance, and optimization for advanced commercial HVAC systems in hospitals, schools, large office buildings, industrial facilities, and critical infrastructure nationwide—ensuring peak performance, energy efficiency, and unmatched reliability. We are seeking highly experienced Service Technician IVs (lead/master‑level) to join our elite service teams, take charge of high‑priority and technically challenging calls, mentor developing technicians, and uphold our unwavering standards of safety, quality, and customer excellence.

Why Join Us?
  • Commitment to Excellence — Safety, precision, and flawless execution are core. We deliver HVAC systems that perform optimally and stand the test of time.
  • Customer‑Centric Approach — Proactive communication, on‑time resolution, detailed follow‑ups, third‑party surveys, and continuous improvement keep clients delighted and loyal.
  • Leadership & Growth — Leverage your mastery to lead crews, influence service strategy, access advanced training/certifications, and position yourself for supervisory or specialist roles in a supportive, high‑performing environment.
  • Great Perks — Competitive pay and benefits, collaborative culture, professional development support, and a real commitment to work‑life balance.
What You’ll Do as a Service Technician IV
  • Lead complex service projects and high‑priority calls: advanced diagnostics, major repairs, system overhauls, retrofits, and optimization of sophisticated HVAC plants (chillers, boilers, central plants, VRF/VRV, large‑tonnage rooftop systems, air handlers, controls/DDC/BMS integration).
  • Perform expert‑level troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, component replacement (compressors, heat exchangers, controls, variable frequency drives, etc.), refrigerant management, system balancing, startup/commissioning, and energy‑efficiency upgrades.
  • Oversee and direct junior technicians (Levels I–III) on‑site: delegate tasks, demonstrate advanced techniques, ensure quality/safety compliance, and provide real‑time mentorship and training.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers on critical accounts—explain issues/solutions clearly, recommend preventative programs, system upgrades, or capital improvements, and build long‑term trust.
  • Coordinate with dispatch, field leadership, parts/warehouse, and other trades to resolve escalated or multi‑system issues efficiently.
  • Conduct thorough post‑service reviews, document detailed reports (work orders, as‑builts, photos, recommendations), and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (process enhancements, safety protocols, training content).
  • Uphold and enforce Modigent safety, quality, and documentation standards on every job, including high‑risk or mission‑critical environments.
What We’re Looking For
  • 7–10+ years of progressive commercial HVAC service, repair, and maintenance experience, with proven mastery across diverse equipment and systems.
  • EPA Section 608 Universal certification required; additional credentials strongly preferred (NATE Advanced, specific manufacturer certifications, journeyman license, controls training, OSHA 30, etc.).
  • Advanced diagnostic and leadership skills: expert troubleshooting of wet‑side (hydronic/chilled/hot water) and dry‑side (air‑side) systems, controls/DDC/BMS, VFDs, and integrated building systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor effectively, make sound decisions under pressure, and deliver consistent high‑quality results with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional customer‑service, communication (verbal/written), and problem‑solving abilities; professional demeanor when interacting with facility managers, engineers, and executives.
  • Strong commitment to safety, reliability, quality workmanship, and a positive leadership attitude.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions: lift up to 50 lbs, frequent bending/lifting, standing/walking on uneven terrain or in confined spaces, safely climbing ladders/scaffolding, and exposure to weather/elements.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

If you’re a master‑level HVAC leader who excels at solving the toughest problems, mentoring the next generation, delivering elite service on critical commercial projects, and thriving in a company that rewards expertise and excellence, bring your skills to Modigent and elevate our service organization! Apply today.
