Job summary

ADT Security Services is seeking a Residential Service Technician to troubleshoot and service security systems, advising customers and the care center on system status and inspection progress.

Key responsibilities include servicing fire/CO detection, networking, hosted video, and access control; testing signals; locating and repairing faulty equipment; reading blueprints; and coordinating inspections with authorities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide service for fire and CO detection, networking, hosted video, and access control systems.
• Follow procedures for wired/wireless installations and connections.
• Test system signals and verify communication with central monitoring.
• Assist customers and care center by updating system status and inspections.
• Identify and fix damaged equipment, readjust or replace components as needed.
• Read blueprints and electrical plans to perform equipment repairs.
• Prepare trouble orders for temporary repairs.
• Coordinate inspections/installations with police, fire departments or other agencies.

Position Summary

The Residential Service Technician is a troubleshooter and service expert who is responsible for alleviating concerns the customer may have regarding a security system. The Residential Service Technician advises customers and the customer care center of the status of systems and processes inspections.

Key Responsibilities

• Services fire and carbon monoxide detection, networking, hosted video solutions, and access control.
• Follow and complete required processes of wired/wireless technology and connection procedures.
• Test and validate system signals/communication with central monitoring to properly establish service.
• A customer service champion, demonstrating the willingness to help our customers fix as well as understand the protection in their home.
• Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
• Readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
• Read blueprints, building and electrical plans in order to complete equipment repairs.
• Prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs.
• Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies.

• Standing, stooping, lifting, climbing, crawling
• Valid driver's license required.

Pay and Benefits Disclosure

The pay range for this role is $21.29-$39.43 (plus commission, where necessary) per hour and is based on experience and qualifications. We offer employees access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and paid time off among others. Employees accrue up to 120 hours in their first year. Your accrual rate increases after your first year. We also offer 6 paid holidays.

Commission Details

In the event a position is commission-based, compensation is solely based on the individual’s sales volume. This applies only to commission roles.
