Job summary

ADT is seeking a Residential Service Technician in New York to troubleshoot, configure, reconstruct and program security and site automation solutions. You will service fire and carbon monoxide detection, access control, and hosted video systems, ensuring reliable operation.

You will read blueprints, install or repair equipment, and coordinate inspections with authorities as needed. Strong communication, customer focus, and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience installing and inspecting/repairing ADT or comparable product line.
• Able to read building electrical and sprinkler plans as required for clearing equipment trouble.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
• Readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
• Read blueprints, building and electrical plans in order to complete equipment repairs.
• Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies.

The Residential Service Technician’s primary functions and responsibilities are that of troubleshooting, configuring, reconstructing and programming existing security and site automation solutions.

What are your key responsibilities?

• Services fire and carbon monoxide detection, networking, hosted video solutions, and access control.
• Follow and complete required processes of wired/wireless technology and connection procedures.
• Test and validate system signals/communication with central monitoring to properly establish service.
• A customer service champion, demonstrating the willingness to help our customers fix as well as understand the protection in their home.

Position Summary:

• Prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs.
• Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies.

Qualifications - External

Education/Certification

• High school diploma or GED.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years experience installing and inspecting/repairing ADT or comparable product line.

Skills:

• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to read building electrical and sprinkler plans as required for clearing equipment trouble
• Standing, stooping, lifting ,climbing ,crawling
• Valid driver's license required.

Pay and Benefits Disclosure:

The pay range for this role is $17.75 - $32.97 an hour and is based on experience and qualifications. We offer employees access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k)plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and paid time off among others. Employees accrue up to 120 hours in their first year. Your accrual rate increases after your first year. We also offer 6 paid holidays.
