Job summary

Syntegon Telstar NA is seeking an experienced field service professional to install, commission, troubleshoot, test, and service pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment at customer sites across the West Coast. The role requires travel, strong mechanical and electrical skills, and a focus on customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, emergency repairs, and providing operation guidance and basic training to customers.

Qualifications

• Technical education or 5+ years of hands-on field service experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities; safe working practices.
• Experience with industrial equipment in regulated environments (pharma, biotech, food).
• Basic PLC diagnostics and understanding of GMP documentation.
• Independent working style, strong communication skills, customer-focused mindset.
• Valid driver’s licence and passport.

Your primary focus in this role is to provide customers with excellent technical customer service and ensure complete satisfaction. Responsibilities include installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, testing, analyzing, while maintaining, repairing, and training of SyntegonTelstar equipment and associated products.

Key Responsibilities

Basic Requirements

• Technical education or 5+ years of hands-on field service / maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities; safe working practices.
• Experience with industrial equipment in regulated environments (pharma, biotech, food).
• Basic PLC diagnostics and understanding of GMP documentation.
• Independent working style, strong communication skills, customer-focused mindset.
• Valid driver’s licence and passport.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience servicing equipment such as lyophilizers, sterilizers, isolators, or containment systems.
• Experience working in cleanroom or controlled environments.
• Ability to read basic ladder logic or fault diagnostics.
• Multi-lingual (Spanish, German, or French) a plus.

Additional physical and travel requirements

• Willingness to travel up to 75%, including international destinations.
• Work in tight quarters; on top of and underneath equipment. Stand, stoop, kneel and bend continuously while working on equipment (66% of the time).
• Lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.

Submit to safety, background and drug/alcohol testing as required by customers and wear personal protective equipment as necessary.

Anticipated hourly rate is between $36 - $41
