It is looking for a service technician to perform preventative and corrective field service mechanics on natural gas compressors out in the field in and around the Western, PA area. Own tools required; specialty tools will be provided along with a company truck, laptop computer and cell phone.

Employee will be responsible for submitting accurate maintenance reports, expense reports, time sheets and other necessary paperwork daily along with responding to compressor problems and emergency service as needed. Drug and Alcohol testing is required along with a background check.

Mechanic Responsibilities
  • Provide tools applicable to perform the job description; examples are below:
    • Socket Sets: ¼”, 3/8”, ½”, ¾”
    • Wrench set up to 1.5”
    • Screw Drivers
    • Snap Ring Pliers
    • Pliers
    • Wire Strippers and Cutters
    • Pipe Wrenches
    • Crescent Wrenches
    • All Wrenches and Allen Sockets
    • Torque Wrench up to 250 lb.
    • Hammers
    • Pry Bars
    • Voltmeter
    • Amp Meter
    • Compression Tester
    • Antifreeze Tester
    • Good Set of Jumper Cables
    • Dial Indicators
    • Calibers
    • Feeler Gauges
  • Perform standard services per the compressor equipment maintenance guideline depending on machine.
    • Change oil & filter
    • Change oil level controllers
    • Grease
    • Check belts & tension
    • Check governor oil and change
    • Compression test
    • Adjust valves
    • Check shutdowns
    • Check for oil leaks
    • Check for gas leaks
    • Check air filter
    • Check mag coupling
    • Check oil and filter
  • Grease according to manufacture and use electric motor grease.
  • Perform standard guideline service per the maintenance guideline for screw equipment.
  • Change oil filters.
  • Take oil samples.
Mechanic Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent. Technical courses or certificate in mechanics, mechanical or industrial desirable.
  • Minimum 2 years diesel, mechanical and technical experience with natural gas compressors in an oil and gas production environment.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices within the Oil & Gas Industry. Working knowledge of State and Federal oil and gas regulations.
  • Perform quality checks on products and services.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members.
  • Perform work under pressure.
  • Pass drug test and background check.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
