Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Service Technician I in Newport Beach, CA. This is a permanent, field-based Service Technician I role supporting the inspection, maintenance, and repair of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), and Liquid to Compressed Natural Gas (LCNG) fueling infrastructure across a regional service area. The ideal candidate brings demonstrated mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with industrial or heavy equipment, strong observational and diagnostic skills, and a commitment to safety and site cleanliness. This position works under the direction of senior technicians and collaborates closely with maintenance planners, field service support, and operations management to keep fueling stations fully operational for customers.

Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled inspections of CNG, LNG, and LCNG fueling locations and equipment to assess proper and normal operating conditions in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Diagnose and correct faulty or malfunctioning mechanical and electrical components, devices, and equipment related to CNG, LNG, and LCNG fueling systems.
- Inspect, maintain, and perform minor to moderate repairs on fueling equipment including compressors, dispensers, priority panels, dryers, and storage tanks.
- Identify corrective actions and proactive maintenance requirements during inspections; generate service orders for completion or escalation to senior technicians as appropriate.
- Assist as secondary manpower on preventive maintenance activities and equipment rebuilds under the direction of Service Technician II, III, or Master Technicians.
- Update and document all activity, service orders, work performed, and recommendations in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service Automation (FSA) software using a personal computer, laptop, or mobile device.
- Ensure assigned fueling stations are operationally prepared for customers by cleaning and maintaining equipment, removing visible trash, and emptying trash containers.
- Provide information and assistance to the public and contracted customers as needed during station visits.
- Drive to and between company sites within the region to fulfill job responsibilities, including coverage at stations in neighboring states as required by business needs.
- Collaborate with maintenance planners, field service support, fellow technicians, and operations management to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with heavy machinery, industrial equipment, or mechanical systems in a construction or field service environment.
- Ability to perform minor to moderate mechanical and electrical repairs and follow safety guidelines on active fueling and construction sites.
- Strong observational and diagnostic skills to inspect equipment and identify necessary maintenance or corrective actions.
- Proficiency with personal computers, laptops, and mobile devices for documenting work activity and service orders in field service management software.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with team members, management, and customers.
- Ability to work regionally, travel as required to cover other technicians across the service area, and adapt to changing project and scheduling priorities.
- Willingness to work a Monday through Saturday schedule and provide coverage at stations in neighboring states as business needs require.
- Previous hands-on experience with CNG, LNG, LCNG, or similar industrial gas or fluid systems is preferred.
- Relevant trade certifications or technical training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is a plus.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 construction safety certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch while performing inspections and maintenance at fueling stations.
- Must be able to lift and carry equipment and materials up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Required to drive between company sites and stations across the region on a frequent basis.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment including safety glasses, gloves, and appropriate footwear at all times on site.
- May be required to work in confined spaces, around high-pressure systems, and near industrial fueling equipment.
- Must be able to operate a personal computer, laptop, and mobile devices to enter and retrieve work documentation in the field.
Pay Transparency:
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $62,400 to $87,360 annually, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
