Job summary

MSS Solutions LLC invites an experienced Service Technician HVAC III to join our team in Hanahan, SC. This role focuses on assisting senior technicians, performing preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting a range of light commercial equipment.

Applicants should hold Universal EPA certification, understand mechanical drawings and electrical systems, and be able to communicate clearly with customers and team members. A strong safety mindset and reliable transportation are required to succeed.

Qualifications

• Universal EPA certification.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment specifications.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex high/low voltage electrical systems.
• Ability to read wiring schematics and control strategies.
• Experience with large unitary packaged equipment, DX systems and related components.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior HVAC technicians and perform preventative maintenance contracts.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain light commercial HVAC equipment.
• Perform scheduled maintenance like belt/filters replacement and leak checks.
• Coordinate with Team Lead, Staff, Sales, and customers.
• Complete project logs and paperwork accurately and on time.

Role and Responsibilities

Assist the Senior HVAC techniciansPerform preventative maintenance contractsTroubleshoot repair and maintain light commercial equipmentPerform scheduled maintenance such as replacing beltsfilters and identify anomalies in HVAC equipmentLog HVAC equipment such as refrigerant circuit electrical circuit condition of equipment etcAbility to braze leak checks and the evacuation processUnderstands the commercial DX equipment up toover 25 tons intakeexhaust fans split systems heat pumps water source heat pumps min splits electric motor controls etcCommunicate with Team Lead Coordination Staff Sales Staff and customersComplete equipment log sheets for Project Managers and upload them into the databaseComplete assigned tasks with minimal call backsBe responsive to supervisor and dispatcherComplete all paperwork in an accurate and timely mannerAbide by basic safe work practicesTake care of and maintain company tools and company vehicleOther such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the company from time to time

Qualifications and Requirements

Universal EPA certificationAbility to understand mechanical drawings and equipment specificationsAbility to troubleshoot complex high and low voltage electrical systems Expert ability to read wiring schematicsHas a thorough understanding of various equipment to include large unitary packaged equipment over 25 tons SWUD units VRF basic air cooled chillers semi hermetic compressors dehumidification equipment complex specialty equipment air handlers of all types simple boilers cooling towers water pumps valves actuators and VFDsProficient with troubleshooting repairing and maintaining all components of the above equipmentComplete understanding of the sequence of operation and control strategies for the above equipmentThorough understanding of airflow for variable air volume systems Must understand duct design for these systems and control strategyUnderstanding of DDC control components and pneumatic systemsDemonstrated experience in understanding basic refrigerant cycle various heating components and air distribution systemsAbility to communicate with customers and explain complex technical issues in laymens termsValid drivers license and acceptable driving recordMust successfully pass a background check and drug test
