Job summary

Kenworth Sales Co. in Spokane, WA is seeking a skilled Service Technician to perform high-quality repairs on customer equipment and to recommend additional services as needed.

You will receive repair orders from the Shop Foreman, follow instructions carefully, maintain workmanship standards, and document all work. A valid driver’s license and 2–3 years of heavy truck repair experience are required.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' experience in medium/heavy truck repair.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English instructions.

Responsibilities

• Receive repair order assignments from Shop Foreman.
• Follow instructions and execute work assignments in repair order thoroughly and efficiently.
• Maintain superior standard of workmanship in all services performed.
• Advise Shop Foreman of any recommended changes in services ordered by the customer.
• Determine if any further repairs or servicing should be recommended to the customer, and communicates such recommendations to the Shop Foreman.
• Maintain a level of training and experience with specialized equipment, machinery, and servicing techniques necessary for superior servicing of the customer’s equipment.
• Attend training sessions as required by the Service Manager.
• Perform additional repairs as required when any piece of equipment is returned by the customer because of the Technician’s faulty workmanship.
• Maintain accurate work order records of work performed and time clocked on jobs.

Salary Minimum and Maximum

$24- $36 per hour. Depending on Experience

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of the Service Technician is to perform superior quality repairs to customer equipment and make recommendations for further services as determined by the Technician during service.

• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in medium and/or heavy truck repair and maintenance.
• Outstanding mechanical aptitude and skills necessary to produce top results.
• Driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Personal motivation and self-reliance. Manual dexterity.
• Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information.

Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding position. Will stand six to eight hours per shift. Will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle and feel. Will lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Will use hand and power tools, hoist and test equipment. Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
