Job summary

Briarwood Ford in Michigan is seeking a Ford Certified Service Technician to join our growing team. The right candidate will have a strong service technician background and ASE & Ford certification is a plus!

In this role you will perform work on repair orders, diagnose repairs, and communicate with the Service Advisor. We value teamwork, quality service, and long-term service opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of service technician experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; ASE certification preferred.
• Ford certification is a plus; Ford dealership experience is preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance per repair orders with efficiency and quality.
• Test-drive vehicles and diagnose issues using diagnostic tools.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair engine, electrical, brakes, and more.
• Communicate with Service Advisor about extra work and time estimates.
• Complete warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications.

Job description

The day-to-day duties include performing work on specific repair orders and diagnosing what repairs need to be done.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent, ASE Certification required
• Ford Certification
• Previous experience at a Ford dealership is preferred
• B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Basic computer competencies
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
• Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
