Job summary

Roofstock is seeking a Service Technician in Sacramento to maintain rental properties, perform inspections, and manage preventive maintenance across multiple homes. The role requires self-motivation, strong customer focus, technical skills, and the ability to work across multiple properties.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and 2+ years of building maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; technical college degree preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Two or more years of direct building maintenance experience strongly desired.
• Experience with basic maintenance tools listed (hammer, screwdrivers, channel locks, multimeter, allen wrenches, pliers, knife, flashlight).

Responsibilities

• Complete thorough inspections of buildings, units and homes (move-out, make ready, onboarding).
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on apartments and single family homes, including units, common areas and amenities.
• Ensure HVAC systems are functioning as intended and have basic HVAC knowledge.
• Perform tests for proper functionality and knowledge of HVAC components.
• Complete internally managed service requests.
• Prepare vacant units for new move-ins.
• Perform quality assurance inspections of work by outside vendors.
• Remove and dispose of trash when needed.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools.
• Respond to on-call and potentially after-hours emergencies.
• Work safely and recognize unsafe situations; ensure safety.
• Serve as on-the-ground ambassador; post notices and maps.
• Other duties as assigned.

About the Role

A Service Technician is responsible for keeping the rental properties in excellent condition, both inside and out. The ideal candidate would be self-motivated, highly customer focused, technically skilled, fast moving, and technologically proficient. This position services multiple properties.

Responsibilities

• Complete thorough inspections of buildings, units and homes (including move-out, make ready, and onboarding inspections)
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on apartments and single family homes, including units, common areas and amenities
• Ensures heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems are functioning as intended
• Perform test for proper functionality and have general knowledge of HVAC components
• Complete internally managed service requests
• Prepare vacant units for new move-ins
• Perform quality assurance inspections of work completed by outside vendors
• Ensure proper removal and disposal of trash, if needed
• Use a variety of hand and power tools
• Respond to on-call and potentially after hours emergencies in a timely manner
• Work in a safe manner and recognize unsafe situations. Take appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in building
• Serve as Mynd's 'on-the-ground' ambassador; post legal notices and inside maps across the property
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalency required. Associates degree from a technical college preferred.
• Valid driver's license & reliable transportation
• Two or more years of direct building maintenance experience strongly desired
• Tools (hammer, screwdrivers, channel locks, multimeter, allen wrenches, pliers, knife, flashlight)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (written follow-up, ability to explain solutions to resident issues, etc.)
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and efficiently manage one's schedule
• Tech savvy with ability to learn and use systems for tracking, scheduling and communicationsAbility to use mobile applications and other tools for a variety of tasks
• Positive, can-do attitude with a commitment to excellence and achieving goals
• Can work independently
• Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings and weekends, if needed

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Compensation

$25.00 - $30.00 hourly. The compensation range may be adjusted based on experience and location.

Pay Transparency

Our compensation reflects several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position represents the expected salary for this position. Ultimately, in determining your pay it will be based on several factors including location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and other job related factors. Roofstock is a total compensation company; the base salary is only part of our total compensation package.
