Job summary

Flint Equipment Company in Pelham, GA is seeking a Service Technician to perform basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on agricultural and turf/construction and forestry equipment. You will join the Service department and report to the Service Manager or Shop Foreman.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of field service experience, knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, and the ability to operate diagnostic tools and Service Advisor.

Qualifications

• Requires 1+ years of experience performing service repairs.
• Familiarity with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in agricultural and turf/construction equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural, turf, construction, and forestry equipment.
• Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs.
• Maintain knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
• Keep vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment in good condition.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work area.
• Follow safety rules and regulations during duties.
• Complete all required reports and forms.
• Log all time and material usage accurately on time cards.

Our service technicians are the heartbeat of what keeps our customers running at maximum productivity. We are looking to add a Service Technician to our team in Pelham, GA who performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf/construction and forestry equipment.

Position Specifics

Department: Service

Reports to: Service Manager or Shop Foreman

Supervises: None

Job Status: Non‑Exempt

Essential Functions

• Performs basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf/construction and forestry equipment and established products
• Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
• Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
• Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
• Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
• Accounts for all time on a time card and for all material used in performing assigned duties

Experience, Education, Skills And Knowledge

• 1+ years of experience performing service repairs
• Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf/construction and forestry equipment
• Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
• Proficient oral and written communication skills
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
• Basic Service Technician certification preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred
• Valid driver’s license is required
• Fork lift license preferred
