Job summary

Ameriserve seeks a skilled Service Technician to repair and maintain commercial kitchen equipment, diagnose issues, and deliver proactive service for restaurants, hotels, and other clients. This role requires hands-on expertise with ovens, walk-ins, dish machines, fryers, and HVAC systems, with a focus on reliability and customer satisfaction.

Extensive daily travel to client sites is expected; a high school diploma or GED is required (degrees or certifications preferred).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree or certification preferred.
• Experience a minimum of 2-5 years in repairing and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment.
• Ability to build strong relationships with the customer and display excellent communication skills.
• Ability to manage your workflow in a timely and consistent manager.
• Ability to lift to 55 pounds.
• Problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Preferred EPA 608 and CFESA certifications in gas, electrical, steam, refrigeration, or electrical.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Pass a satisfactory background and drug screening.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Knowledgeable about all safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Repair and Maintenance: Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, walk in coolers/freezers, dish machines, fryers, mixers, tilt skillets, and HVAC systems.
• Support the client: Oversee all network services and perform tests on equipment and circuits; troubleshoot issues and resolve requests in a timely manner.
• Customer Service: Maintain relationships with customers and follow company guidelines.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and gas related issues with commercial kitchen equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 to 75 pounds; frequently lift and or move up to 100 pounds with assistance and heavy lift equipment
• Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and heights
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods and climb up and down ladders
• Extensive daily travel to work site locations
• Exposure to electrical, steam, and high heat units that require extreme caution and safety equipment
